Rife - Planimeter Drafting Instrument discovered!
We ran across a planimeter drafting instrument probably designed and built by Royal R. Rife. The "PAT. 17694" cannot be a patent number, so we don't know what it was, or why Rife placed that on the instrument.
Here are three snapshots of it:

This is a planimeter, a device used to determine the area of an object. The upper scale (all measurements are in centimeters / mm) has a small weight (circular object in upper photo lower right corner) that goes on an upper shaft, and bottom portion of that shaft has the typical drafting instrument needle on it for sticking into drafting paper or a drafting table.
For information on the planimeter, see the website http://whistleralley.com/planimeter/planimeter.htm
The lower scale has a similar needle device on the bottom of, but back near the fulcrum there are multiple readouts.
The instrument is a bit stained, appears to be tool steel, and has excellent workmanship!
We were asked not to divulge the owner of this instrument, in any case they no longer have the device.
Thanks to the researcher who sent us the name of this instrument!!
